Bio:
Derek Christopher Grote was born during the Superbowl of 1987 (The Giants winning over The Broncos). He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where he learned to play music on all of his dad's old guitars and various other musical instruments. In his middle school years, Derek started writing and recording his own music, as well as starting his first band, The Protesters. After graduating high school, Derek attended The Recording Workshop Of Ohio, where he obtained a certificate in audio engineering. In the years following, Derek scored and contributed music to a number of independent films, starred in productions for a local public access station, and continued to write and record music for both his band and his solo endeavors. Derek is also an aspiring screenwriter and film editor.
